Wine Classes on 2 Wednesdays in July
Dr. Marlene McCauley, Geology Professor at Guilford College, will teach Understanding White Wines (July 14) and completed Understanding Red Wines (July 21).

You will learn to identify the aromas and flavors commonly found in red wines. By swirling, sniffing, and tasting the wines in each class, you will increase your ability to detect and describe different aromas and flavors. We will have a side-by-side tasting of several important varietals in each class.
Marlene teaches "Terroir: the Science of Wine" at Guilford College. Her research interests include the links between wine and terroir (soils, bedrock, etc.) in a number of grape-growing regions, including North Carolina and Italy.
Marlene not only provide an educational experience, she does it in an interesting, entertaining way. Her classes at Guilford College fill within minutes of the opening of registration. This is a wonderful, rare opportunity to learn from an accomplished professor.
